In-School CAPS Creative Arts Programme
Durban Actors Studio have developed CAPS aligned Life Skills Creative Arts lesson plans for Foundation and Intermediate phase learners as well as Senior Phase, Grade 7 to 9, Creative Arts CAPS lesson plans for the Drama and Dance syllabus. All plans include the practical and written assessments and deliver to the required topic expectations.
By designing and developing our own lesson plans, in alignment with the national syllabus, and adding our experience as specialised educators in the field of performance, we are perfectly positioned to run your schools’ Creative Arts education programme. Durban Actors Studio has been contracted to run specialised drama “In-School” programmes for Penzance Primary School, Gelofte, Hillcrest Primary School, Durban Preparatory High School and Embury College.
Your school has the ability to access our specialised team of drama educators on a termly or annual basis. Our time is contracted to schools on a half hour or full hour basis during the normal school day.
InterAct – After School Programme
The Durban Actors Studio Performance and Communication programme, InterAct, develop creativity, confidence, communication, collaboration and critical thinking. The InterAct syllabus is designed around various learning objectives as set in the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Performance and Communication programme, which is an internationally recognised and approved syllabus. We deliver a diverse extramural arts education programme which provides for personal and social skills upliftment, progressive performance development and the ability to identify students who can advance performance training on a more “serious” level.
In a nutshell, our classes provide an educational and life-enriching experience; a safe place to theatrically play, learn and grow in.
